Brush Clearing With Goats
Chomping Your Overgrowth Problems Away!
Have A Problem With The Local Flora?
Goats really love eating and they are quite good at it! We decided to put our goats to work clearing unwanted vegetation from areas where other solutions don’t work as efficiently. Our goats may be a good solution for your plant problem, especially if the area to be managed has one or more of the following traits:
- Steep slopes
- Debris that may damage power machinery (stumps, rocks, trash, old fencing, etc.)
- Significant concerns about fire risk
- Neighbors concerned about noise
- Massive well-established blackberry infestations
- Structures overgrown with vines/canes
- Dense trees that limit access to power machinery

What Will Goats Eat?
The simple answer is that they will eat just about anything! There are certain toxic plants that we need to keep them away from but for the most part there really isn’t anything that we can’t handle. We’ve removed just about every species of pest plant you can find in Oregon with great success!
How Do We Contain the Goats?
Simple: We use temporary electric fences to humanely keep the goats from wandering off. Most of our veterans know and respect the fence. Simply having it in place is enough. Besides, they love eating so much that they aren’t usually motivated to leave!

How to Hire Us
- Contact us by phone (503.908.4042) or email (info@getfoola.com) to arrange an initial appointment for a site survey of your property. It’s fast and free! We’ll address any specific elements of the job and give you a quote for the work to be performed.
- Once you decide to move forward we will schedule a date to begin work. We tend to start in the morning (usually 7-8 AM) and work 8 hour shifts.
- The day before the arranged start date we will arrive to set up the electric fencing. This process usually takes 1-2 hours.
- On the start date the brush clearing team will arrive in their truck and livestock trailer. If possible, we arrange the fencing so that the trailer backs right up to a gap in the fence. After that we simply open the door and the goats hop out and get to chomping!
- After a full shift we simply reverse the process: the goats are loaded into the trailer and we head back to the farm until the next work day.
- The day after the job is complete we return to the farm to remove the fencing. We’re all done!
