As a general rule, we like to know what it is that we are putting in and on our bodies, especially since some of our family has sensitive skin. Unfortunately, most commercially made soaps contain chemicals that are hard to recognize. Our soaps are typically made from a base recipe that is very simple. We have a liquid base (typically either water, goat milk, coffee, or beer), an oil base (usually some combination of olive, avocado, coconut, or lard), and lye. Using the hot process method these three base components chemically combine to create soap. To this we can add fragrance oils (as often as possible 100% natural), and dyes (usually mica powder- basically finely-ground rocks). The end result is something we think your skin will love!
